Well, managed to get some photos today of the frame and had a walk through the house.
Amazing.. It's so funny when we stood on the slab last week trying to work out how the rooms were going to fit, it just looked so small.
Now after walking through and seeing the actual rooms, it's amazing how it all just fits together.
Went by on Friday too and Brett (carpenter) and his boys were working onsite. What a nice guy.
He said they have a few days to complete and the windows are ordered for Tuesday. All the roof is onsite and crane has been ordered plus all our guttering also is onsite. It's getting so exciting now.
One thing we didn't realise is how huge the windows all are. You dont see the height on the plans only the width, but they practically go from floor to ceiling so will be interesting to see what they look like next week.
Anyway, here are some photo's, even though its hard to see what anything actually is, its too exciting not to post them up..

How many squares is your house? It looks Enormous!!!! Kurmond seems to have really got there construction hats on,we have gone from nothing to full house up with clean bricks and painted eaves in 8 weeks, couldn't be happier! Hoping to be in for Christmas but don't want them to rush too much and compromise on quality but nothing to complain about so far apart from the torturously long delay in starting but now the ball is definitely rolling!!!
ReplyDeleteWow - that's great.... I certainly hope ours goes up as quick.
ReplyDeleteIt's 53sq so yes it's quite a big home. Not sure how it got that way, We designed it ourselves and got Kurmond to build it. We had certain minimums in terms of bedroom sizes and then my husband had to tack on the rumpus (to be games room say day in the future), so it just came out that way - although the Garage is big, probably just under 4 cars long so that takes up a fair bit of it really. The ceilings are 10ft, so I am looking forward to seeing it once the roof goes on.
If not for Kurmond, we probably would not have been able to afford to build it. They have been so great and the inclusions we are getting are fantastic.
It's taken us 12 months to get from contract to costruction, but to be honest it was Penrith Council who caused the majority of our delays they lost us 6 months in not knowing their job so that was really frustrating. Plans didnt go in until January after rejecting them last Nov (in error and for no reason in the end)and still took over 10 weeks to get them through after that, so it's been a long haul. The ladies we dealt with at Kumond were absolutley fabulous and in terms of customer service I dont have one complaint at all - just common sense really, make sure you document everything.
So far with construction it's early days, but again I have no complaints at all. So far I have been really happy with our experience.
Anyway, really looking forward to getting the bricks up, just hoping now all the colours work.
Kurmond homes is the most dangerous builder to deal with in nsw. They take money from you and then just wouldn't do any work. And they wouldn't give back the money. Go with this group of thugs only if your dad or brother is either a thug or a building disputes lawyer. I have lost 2 years and 50k as a result of choosing these dodgy builder. I don't know why govt still lets them operate.
