10 months on

Wow, where has the time gone....

It's amazing how time flies. So we finally moved in over Easter 2013. We got keys in March but then had to do the floors, tiles carpets etc first and then move everything in.

So we are gradually getting there but it takes so much time.

We will be getting our driveway finished in Feb, there is so much concrete, this expense has had to wait but the lack of dust and dirt is on the horizon.... thank goodness.

After that's done then we will look to get our air-conditioning in before Winter comes, I would also like the fireplace put in and the home theatre seating sorted... Hubby can look after the outside, which has not been touched much but will post a photo of the little bit we have done around one side.

Anyway, I haven't posted any photo's on here since even the carpet and tiles were laid, so here are some recent shots.

I need to take some photos of the side garden so will post them tomorrow and will update once the driveway is finished.

As far as the house - it's still standing and haven't had any major issues or concerns so in all really love our new home and the quality of the build in terms of the past 10 months - is wonderful.

WE HAVE KEYS

Well finally our journey has rached a major milestone and this afternoon we picked up our keys...

It's still a little surreal but it's very exciting all the same.

Our tiler is booked in for Monday morning and will take 2 weeks, we are getting our 12.5BAL rated screens meaured Tuesday and will take 2 weeks. Once they're in, we can apply for interim OC and book in our appliances on move in day.

Once the tiles and carpet are down, I will take photo's... until then lots of packing and moving!!

Almost at handover - 1st walk through complete

I know it's been a long while in between posts - Sorry but we've had a lot happen... Yay!

So over the past 2 1/2 weeks or so, we have seen a lot of the final touches happen and any outstanding issues resolved.

Had our first walk through last week and happy to report that all outstanding items from my previous post have pretty much been completed:

- Garage doors - completed
- wardrobes to be fitted out - completed
- Electricals - completed
- 3rd paint coat - in progress
- error corrections in enuite/laundry - fixed/completed
- final fittingss - all but mirrors and shower heads - completed
- Kitchen stone top - rectified - completed
- kitchen splashback - fitted - completed

So, what's on this week:

- Meeting our carpet guys onsite tomorrow to do their final measure/check (carpet going down after handover)
- Have our tiler on standby so as soon as we get keys, he's going to come in and tile our main floors
- Appliances on standby, so once we have moved in, Kurmond's electrician and plumber will come in and fit our appliances for us.

Hopefully if all goes to plan, then we should get keys at the end of the week and we can get cracking on at least finishing the internal floors and driveway.... Oooh the driveway - there's a lot of concrete needed and not looking forward to seeing the bill.... Got some research to do on this one.

Anyway, here are some photo's from our walk through

Stone on and other updates

I was very excited to see the stone tops on the Kitchen this week - the guys have done an amazing job - so much so that it took me a while to find the join in our island, which I have been paranoid about.

Also struggled to find it as it's not where it was going to be based on the plan. Due to our bench length, our join was going to miss the sink and go across the whole depth of the bench, but it isn't, they have put it through the centre of the sink so there is even less to see - I was thrilled!

Not so happy about the sink hole cut being far too big, so they have to come back on Monday and replace a portion of the stone from the join so it becomes the right length. It's also not quite wide enough but they'll work it out.

Apparently the stonemason didn't pass on our sink mesurements and it was pre-cut in the factory based on the old sink, which we removed as we are providing our own.

Meeting our tiler onsite tomorrow I think, just waiting on the call to confirm to fix our ensuite/shower floor and just need to fix up the laundry a little too.

Also completed has been all the Sentinel fitout for our alarm so all doors and windows are fitted out with the perimeter alarm, the front door security video TV screen is on the wall in the Kitchen and all door handles have been put on.

Still to go:
- Garage doors - (last post I said they were on as I was told they were but they actually haven't yet)
- wardrobes to be fitted out
- Electricals
- 3rd paint coat
- error corrections in enuite/laundry
- final fittingss

Not that much, if all stays on track then we're nearly there.

Here are some photo's of the kitchen:

Fitout for the pantry is awesome. I thought we were just getting the standard malemine shelves, but these were done by the kitchen company so are like the kitchen cabinetry. All shelves, adjustable so I can adjus shelf heights etc so not to waste space.

Finlly, our feature tiles were put in the bathrooms too so here are some updated tile images:

I think that's enough for now! Big update!
